Nominator's project description
| Professor Drayton is one of the world’s leading historians in the growing field of global history. He is also a key figure in the fields of Imperial History, the History of Science, and Caribbean history. He argues that Iberian, Dutch, French and British expansion should not be treated as separate undertakings, but should be considered in the context of the trans-European history of imperial cooperation and its impact on the interior of Europe. In Germany, he will focus on the impact of imperial expansion on Europe. |
